This is a graceful Japanese whisky aged in the most expensive wooden barrels in the world, Mizunara Oak and bottled by a negotiant drinks group started by a former Asahi employee. This whisky is all about the incredible flavors that the wood can impart on the spirit. Orange peel, coconut, sandalwood, tea, and incense on the nose. Full on the palate with orange, coconut, vanilla, peanut, sandalwood, tea, and pepper. Tea on the finish. It is hard to find Japanese whisky at a good price – it is just so in demand. This negotiant makes some lovely whisky that highlights the oak. Definitely worth a try! Kanpai!
