Four Roses Small Batch

You know what’s a nice treat? A dog treat! Also, bourbon. Bourbon is a nice treat. This Four Roses Small Batch is a blend of 4 mash bills and is usually around 6.5 years old. You’ll smell citrus, red flowers, caramel, and light wood. In the glass, the taste is of wood/oak, caramel, hint of dried cherries, and finally some gentle spice.

This is a nice one that won’t let you down! I paired it with GivePet dog treats, which you should really have your humans buy for you. For every bag sold, they donate enough treats to shelters to feed 10 shelter dogs.

Four Roses Single Barrel

Four Roses Single Barrel is a great, fairly priced single barrel bourbon that you should always have in your cabinet! This bottle was aged almost 9 years and uses a mash bill of 60% corn, 35% rye, 5% malted barley. This store pick used OBSV and came in at 63.3% ABV.

On my pour, I smelled nice red flowers at first, followed by a hit of alcohol. I then picked up burnt cinnamon rolls, oak, vanilla, and cedar.

When tasted neat, you’ll pick up notes of red florals, dried cherries, cinnamon, and cardamom. If you add some water, it becomes a bit more approachable with the floral notes coming up more and the cinnamon and spice dying down a bit.

Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon

Ohai friends on this lovely boozeday Tuesday. You know what time it is? It’s bourbon time! Let’s talk about Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon today. It’s always OBSV. Warm. Spicy. Lovely. Vanilla, orange, cinnamon, cooked apples, dried flowers, oak, and cork on the nose. Very flavorful on the palate with bourbon vanilla, cayenne, cinnamon, cooked apples, peaches in brown sugar, a bit of pepper and warmth from the rye. Nice viscousness too. I really love my wheated bourbons – this one isn’t wheated but it is delicious all the same. This bourbon has a beautiful history in Europe (and a sad one here in the USA) but now we are getting the good stuff again. DRINK UP, FRIENDS!
