2014 Château Puygueraud

May your days be merry and bright and filled with wine! Dark cherries and dark plums with leather, cocoa, and some dried fruit on the nose. Fresh and dried cherries and plums on the palate with brown spices and leather.

2014 Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande Réserve de la Comtesse

Striking a countess-like pose for this second wine of Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande while waiting for Santa! A full nose of cassis, blackberries, raspberries, graphite, wood, dark plums, black tea, and lavender. Raspberries and dark plums on the palate with graphite, black tea, and crisp acidity.

2012 Château de Pierreux Brouilly

It’s the most wonderful time of the year when you have some nice Beaujolais on paw. Chewy red berries – strawberries, cherries – and bramble on the nose. Chewy red forest berries, gummy strawberries, Bissinger’s yumberry gummies, and blueberry pomegranate gummies on the palate.

2016 Field Recordings Franc

Gettin’ in the holiday spirit with this Cab Franc (one of my fave grapes) from California. Dark cherries, dark currants, blackberries, even a hint of blueberries, violets, and graphite on the nose. Cherries dominate on the palate and bounce between ripe and tart, crushed black currants and blackberries, and a bit of clove and mint to round out the palate. Not an Old World Cab Franc but not overly ripe either. Lovely!
