Christmas is right around the corner and I am supes excited! Celebrating with this fun Umbrian juice. Cherries, plums, and young wood on the nose. Cherries, plums, and bramble on the palate. Fun stuff!

Hanging out with furry Santa rowing a boat, minding my lovely white Burgundy. Super mineral on the nose with chalk and saline notes, lemon crème, apples, tarragon, and martini olive. Apples and lemon crème on the palate with tarragon and chalk.

2013 Sine Qua Non “Male” Syrah
Breaking open the good stuff for Christmas Day because, you know, the big man visited me last night and all. Decadent on the nose with blackberries, black cherry compote, and fruit leather. Macerated blackberries and black fruit, pie innards, cinnamon, and brown sugar on the palate. High alcohol and high acidity to this stunner. Merry Christmas, all!

Who’s this Santa guy?! Oh well, I have some Rioja on hand, so can’t complain… Spicy, peppery red and black plums on the nose with a hint of Zinfandel notes and pine tar. Tart blackberries and cherries on the palate. More interesting on the nose than on the palate.

2013 Domaine Chignard Juliénas Beauvernay
Nothing gets me into the holiday spirit like an excellent Gamay. And this is one. Small blackberries, raspberries, purple and red flowers, and twigs on the nose. Tarter on the palate with cherries and underripe raspberries and sapling.
