2017 Estate Argyros Atlantis White

Sup. It’s Thirsty Thursday, y’all. Going Greek for this one. Full nose of lemon curd, whiff of wet beach – sea salt, sea shells, rocks – hint of macadamia nuts, and crisp apple. More sea notes on the palate – sea salt and sea shells with lemon acidity and Granny Smith apples on the finish.

1976 Hugel & Fils Riesling Vendanges Tardives

Kicking off the weekend with this nicely aged late harvest Riesling by one of my go-to Alsatian producers! Sweet apples, honeysuckle, honey, and apple tart on the nose. Honey and apple with a mix of tropical notes, ginger, and peach on the palate. Beautiful balance with the acidity. Pure minerality on the finish. LOVELY.

2016 Decoy Zinfandel

Hiding from Monday. Ripe, crushed red fruit – raspberries, strawberries, cherries – on the nose with a hint of pie filling. Almost mixed berry jam notes on the palate with loads of cherries, strawberries, and cherries. Very soft and silky.

2015 Château Cap de Faugères “La Mouleyre”

Fighting the mid-week slump with this Merlot. Raspberries, plums, blackberries, red and purple flowers, and incense on the nose. Blackberries, plums, and salted dark fruit on the palate with silky, luxurious tannins. Smooth and velvety, like they do with Merlot in Bordeaux. Hey, if Miles don’t want to drink Merlot, that just means there’s more of this for you and me!

2015 Bodegas Pinuaga Nature Tempranillo Vino de la Tierra de Castilla

Still feeling the lingering summer heat on this Wine Wednesday. So I’m knocking back some Tempranillo. Fresh cherry pie, strawberries, and earth on the nose. Similar on the palate where this is quite soft and pleasing. Nice acidity.

2016 Emile Beyer Pinot Noir Tradition

Chillin’ like a villain with my Alsatian Pinot. Juicy cherries, raspberries, and cranberries on the nose with a whiff of stone and dried red flowers. Great mix of fruit – cherries, raspberries, and strawberries – on the palate with nice acidity.

2017 Santo Wines Santorini Assyrtiko

Wishing I were in Santorini right about now. Yellow flowers, honeyed apples, and Meyer lemon on the nose. Crisp golden apples, Meyer lemon, stone, and some stone fruit sprinkled in on the palate. Fun wine to pair with seafood.

2017 Field Recordings Blanc de Franc Pét Nat

Suns out, sparkling Franc’s out! Initially smells like cider on the nose with notes of lemon, apple, and bread. Lemon, apple, and sourdough on the palate with a lemon and underripe peach finish. Cheers!

Pretty psyched that the sun’s out! Lemon, oxidative notes of raw almonds, yellow flowers and key lime on the nose. Lemon and lots of pineapple on the palate. Nice, tropical acidity.

Yo! Good Grenache is a thing to behold. This stuff just pops in your mouth. Peppered strawberries, cherries, and red licorice notes abound. Bright, bright fruit on this guy. Give it a sip!
