Russell’s Reserve 10 Year
10 years is a great, benchmark number to age bourbon. Think Eagle Rare, Michters, Old Rip, Henry McKenna. This is no different.
On the nose, you’ll get spicy notes from the rye. Some cracked pepper and wood.
The taste is a bit of spice, then oak, caramel, vanilla, and cracked green pepper. There’s some peanut butter hidden in the back too. This is rather full bodied for only 90 proof. Like all Wild Turkey products, this is hot and spicy.
10 year old bourbon is so classic that you’ll want as many as you can on your shelf. This one won’t break the bank.

2017 Beatrice & Pascal Lambert Chinon Blanc Domaine
Taking on this Monday LIKE A BOSS with this lovely Chenin from the Loire. Green apples, white flowers, lemon, and wax on the nose. Nice acidity with the lemon, apple, and wax notes on the palate.
2017 Estate Argyros Atlantis White
Sup. It’s Thirsty Thursday, y’all. Going Greek for this one. Full nose of lemon curd, whiff of wet beach – sea salt, sea shells, rocks – hint of macadamia nuts, and crisp apple. More sea notes on the palate – sea salt and sea shells with lemon acidity and Granny Smith apples on the finish.
90% Assyrtiko, 5% Athiri, 5% Aidani
2014 Evening Land “Seven Springs Vineyard” Pinot Noir
Raising a glass in honor of all of those who have served this Veterans Day. A funkier nose than usual for Oregon – underripe cherries, cola nut, raspberries, twigs, and some earth and mulch. A bit lighter, less complex on the palate – again with cherries, cola nut, a sprinkle of cinnamon, and light wood. Enjoy!

2015 Dominio del Plata Susana Balbo Signature Malbec
This is me waiting for weekend to start… starting with this excellent Malbec. Cassis, blackberries, mushrooms, and some smoke and tar notes on the nose and palate. Really nice!

2017 Burckel Jung Alsace Pinot Noir
Bundling up on this Thirsty Thursday with this Alsatian Pinot! Cherries, forest strawberries, and potpourri on the nose. Cherries and strawberries on the palate with a hint of stems. Quite lovely, but with an unexpected hint of sweetness on the finish.
2017 Antonelli “Anteprima Tonda” Spoleto
Happy Monday, y’all! Today I’m enjoying an organic, single vineyard wine made and matured in amphoras. Lemon, fig, yellow flowers, and raw nut powder on the nose. Nice body on this wine – notes of lemon, fig, and nuts on the palate. Fuller and almost hints at Assyrtiko. Needs food! Like me!
2017 Finca Bacara “Time Waits for No One”
Trick or treat! Heading to space with this thematic, oak-aged Spanish wine and all the noms. Red and dark cherries and a load of pie spice on the nose. Cherries and blackberries on the palate. Sweet but with nice acidity to round it out. Happy Halloween!
2016 Sleight Of Hand Cellars “The Spellbinder” Red
Gearing up for Halloween with super Pearl Jam fans, my hudad and Sleight of Hand Cellars! Blackberries, dark plums, some green herb notes, and currants on the nose. Velvety mouthfeel from the Merlot with loads of blackberries, black plums, dark cassis, and purple fruit. Still a hint of herb and green peppercorn sauce on steak notes.
Cabernet Sauvignon (55%), Cabernet Franc (26%), Syrah (12%), Merlot 8%

1976 Hugel & Fils Riesling Vendanges Tardives
Kicking off the weekend with this nicely aged late harvest Riesling by one of my go-to Alsatian producers! Sweet apples, honeysuckle, honey, and apple tart on the nose. Honey and apple with a mix of tropical notes, ginger, and peach on the palate. Beautiful balance with the acidity. Pure minerality on the finish. LOVELY.
