2016 Emile Beyer Pinot Noir Tradition
Chillin’ like a villain with my Alsatian Pinot. Juicy cherries, raspberries, and cranberries on the nose with a whiff of stone and dried red flowers. Great mix of fruit – cherries, raspberries, and strawberries – on the palate with nice acidity.
This is the Tom Petty or Dave Matthews band of bourbon. It might not be anyone’s favorite, but if you pull out a bottle, everyone will be happy. This is rumored to be 9.5 years old with a mash bill likely under 10% rye.
It smells of caramel, honey, orange, orange peel, hint of cherry, and a hint of red apple. When poured neat you taste caramel, oak, and lots of cherries. The taste rounds out with orange, apples, and vanilla.
Instantly likable. Instantly placeable. You should always have a bottle of this on paw for sipping neat or pouring into a cocktail.

2017 Santo Wines Santorini Assyrtiko
Wishing I were in Santorini right about now. Yellow flowers, honeyed apples, and Meyer lemon on the nose. Crisp golden apples, Meyer lemon, stone, and some stone fruit sprinkled in on the palate. Fun wine to pair with seafood.
2017 Field Recordings Blanc de Franc Pét Nat
Suns out, sparkling Franc’s out! Initially smells like cider on the nose with notes of lemon, apple, and bread. Lemon, apple, and sourdough on the palate with a lemon and underripe peach finish. Cheers!

Willett Pot Still Reserve Bourbon
I’m standing at attention and enjoying a great bourbon to honor our fallen. To those of who have lost a loved one in service, you are owed an unpayable debt of gratitude.
This bourbon has a herbaceous, medicinal note that I’m used to with Willet bourbons. I also pick up corn, sugar, sugary cereal, peanut, and cedar closet.
The juice tastes of butterned corn, cedar, oak, white pepper, caramel, and some herbs and trees.

2015 Santo Wines “Aspa” White Santorini
Pretty psyched that the sun’s out! Lemon, oxidative notes of raw almonds, yellow flowers and key lime on the nose. Lemon and lots of pineapple on the palate. Nice, tropical acidity.

2015 Domaine Turner Pageot G 230
Yo! Good Grenache is a thing to behold. This stuff just pops in your mouth. Peppered strawberries, cherries, and red licorice notes abound. Bright, bright fruit on this guy. Give it a sip!

2016 Sandhi Pinot Noir
Happy Monday! Now that the sun’s out, Sears (I mean, Willis) Tower is lookin’ mighty fine. Almost as fine as this awesome Pinot by Rajat Parr! Cola nut, cherries, raspberries, a hint of mulch, and wet soil on the nose. Cola nut and luscious cherries on the palate, which starts to get full. Tightens up with fresh acidity. This is excellent!

2013 Marchesi Antinori Badia a Passignano Chianti Classico
Classin’ it up for this Antinori Chianti Classico! And also Friday. A full nose of black cherries, currants, young tobacco, cedar, green herbs, dust, a hint of forest, chocolate, black truffle, and even whiffs of balsamic. This just reminds you of everything you want to eat in Italy. Dark cherries and currants on the palate with a bit of old wood, forest, and sawdust. Lovely acidity.

2014 Robert Sinskey Vineyards Late Harvest Pinot Gris
Hope you all had a romantical V-Day! Finishing out the week strong with one of my faves. Honeysuckle, white and yellow flowers, golden apples, spaetzle, white nuts, and ripe pears on the nose. Sweet apple and pear on the palate with yellow flowers, marzipan, and macaron cookie shells. Just lovely stuff from a great producer.
