1983 Château Mouton Rothschild
Gobble gobble! Happy Thanksgiving! I busted out the big guns for tonight. This wine is best described as a place – a gentleman’s room. The aroma is filled with notes of everything you’d expect there – dried old tobacco, old leather, cedar, lead pencil, dried flowers and graphite. Add cassis eucalyptus, shiitake, and blackberry and you’ve got the smell of this wine! It smells so good that you almost don’t want to drink it and you just want to smell it, buuuut… the taste is beautiful with notes of cassis, cherry, blackberry, tobacco, leather. Dried tea and potpourri comes on mid-palate with notes of mint, and graphite. Beautiful. Elegant. Polished.
Bordeaux blend (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot)
Pauillac (Bordeaux), FRANCE

2011 Louis Roederer Brut Millésime Rosé
Thankful today for all you friends near and far, my humans who give me noms, and this lovely rosé champagne. Nose of a not-sweet cherry Danish pastry and chalk. Red fruit on the palate with a whiff of marzipan, lemon curd, fresh cut apple, and cherry Danish. Fresh mouthwatering acidity that lingers. Happy Thanksgiving, y’alls!
Chardonnay, Pinot Noir
