2016 Domaine Bousquet Gaia Tupungato White Blend

Oh hey. This is a nice organic white blend from Argentina. A hint of oxidation on the nose along with apple, pear, and raw nut notes. Even some tropical fruit creepin’ in there – like pineapple rind. Similar on the palate with apple, pear, and pineapple rind notes. Raw nuts on the finish with some just barely browning apples.

2008 DiamAndes “Diamandes de Uco” Gran Reserva

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend. Especially in wine form, if you ask moi. Deep, dark color on this lovely wine. Blackberries and even some blueberries on the nose with some cooked fruit, tar and smoke, black tea, sweet spice, and molasses notes. Blackberries, black plums, and some red cherries on the palate with hints of bergamot and dark cola. Nice lifted acidity. This is delicious now but could be aged a bit more too.

Domaine Bousquet Pinot Noir РChardonnay Brut Ros̩

Oh heyyyy… Sunny days mean rosé! Especially if it’s an organic, sparkling rosé! Small red fruit, stone, lemon, cherries, orange peel, and a hint of aperol spritz on the nose. Light notes of cherry, orange, orange peel, and golden peach on the palate with a bit of stone. Not bad for the pricepoint. It isn’t champagne but it is quality for the price.

2015 Gouguenheim Valle Escondido Momentos del Valle Torrontés

Taking a moment to enjoy this interesting Torrontés, a grape I dig. Lots of salinity here! Salty, briny mussel shells on the nose along with lemon, pear, pineapple, guava, and tapioca. Lemon and ripe pear on the palate with tropical notes of pineapple and guava. Still some salinity as well with lime on the finish. It’s almost like the salt rim of a margarita – that awesome mix of sweet and salty!
